Registration is Now Open for the 2025 MATE ROV Competition Season

Happy New Year! We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2025 MATE ROV Competition season - starting with our World Championship event taking place June 19-21, 2025.

Dive in and see what's in store at Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary's Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center in Alpena, Michigan, U.S.A.!

Team registration will open for our regional competitions over the next few months so stay tuned for those event announcements. You can find all competition event locations listed here with website information and registration links updated as events are announced by our regional partners.

The 2025 MATE ROV Competition mission highlights the UN Decade of the Ocean and MATE's Year of the Great Lakes focusing on monitoring and mitigating impacts of climate change on our water world. PIONEER and EXPLORER class teams may register now to qualify for this season's World Championship event (along with World Championship event volunteers).

RANGER teams must qualify at a regional competition and will be invited to participate (remote teams prohibitively far from a regional must follow these protocol for video qualification). NAVIGATOR and SCOUT teams will also register to compete at regional events. Click into the competition class links above to review eligibility, mission manuals, and scoring criteria for each.

You can find registration resources here to help you with the process and instructions to reset your ACTIVE account login and password here. Reach out if you need additional support: registrar@marinetech.org.

Best of luck this competition season!
