James Hotard - MATE Liaison to Oceaneering International & Co-Lead Safety Inspector

James has been involved in the MATE community since 2013. He introduced Oceaneering’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management system to MATE in 2016 and the OII Safety award in 2017. He serves as one of the safety inspectors at our international competitions and has supported the Texas and Alabama – Northern Gulf Coast regionals in the past.
James has been with Oceaneering since 1995 and has held various positions such as offshore technician, supervisor, and superintendent. He has also served in Operations, Training, and Competency Management positions. He continues to support the ROV industry and has recently joined the Oceaneering Technologies group. Prior to joining Oceaneering, James served in the US Navy as an Avionics Tech from 1986-1994.
